I am losing bass on the first neck of my Rickenbacker 508 three neck steel. It goes in an out. Sometimes will play perfectly for 20 minutes and then go out leaving me with a bad midrange sound? I am not sure what I need to do to fix it. Can I just pull of the mounting plate on the neck and examine??

Sounds like a ground problem I once had. Faulty solder connection on the ground wire gave me intermittent loss of volume and lower frequencies.
