I tried C6 for a whilr but couldn't get used to the stiffer pick action and stiffer pedal action because of the heavier strings. s it a good or bad idea to use lighter strings more in line with those on E9? I did like the readily available swing chords on C6

Tom what sort of guitar do you have, the pedal action shouldn't be any different from the E9th neck - and you need the correct gauge strings to get those lower notes ...most standard C6th sets should do the trick.

I had an msa classic that was really nice, but you darn near had to put both hands on your knee and push with the C6 pedals! I bought the Rusler on the forum which should be arriving soon. Thought I'd give it another go.

Sounds like the return springs on the lower changes are too tight.

Also, some people raise the first string on a pedal that already has 3 changes. You don't need that first string raise. Remove it - just back out the tuning nut until it does nothing.

Going to lighter strings will make you sound out of tune and require major adjustments to the undercarraige. Stick with the standard gauges.

Lubricate the changer.

Thanks for the input, guys. I was only a couple years in when I had the Double. I didn't dare at that time to do much adjustment. I got Mr. Steiner's "swinging on E9" courses, (which are great, by the way) and learned some of that style on E9. That got me interested in C6 again.
