MAY 1st was the last day of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Convention in Honolulu. (MAY DAY IS LEI DAY IN HAWAII)
So far we haven't heard any details of the
convention, nor have we seen any photos. ???

The convention was lightly attended, but fun, as usual. I played on Thursday, accompanied by Wayne Sushido (Guitar) Don Kellett (uke) and Kamaka Tom (bass). The luncheons were good, too. I played at Lei Day with Alan Akaka and Gary Aiko. I didn't stick around to hear the other folks who played after me. Lion Kobayashi - Japan, Dave (DK) Kolars - Illinois, Don Kellett - Canada, and several others played.
