Al Perkins is a Texas-born American guitarist, known primarily for his steel guitar work with Gram Parsons, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas, the Rolling Stones, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Tori Amos, Garth Brooks, Dwight Yoakam, Dan Fogelberg, Joe Walsh, Mike Love, Solomon Burke, Patty Loveless, Cher, Rita Coolidge, Iris DeMent, Michael Martin Murphey, Buddy Miller, & Jim Lauderdale among others.
Regarding Buddy:
"You know, I never had the pleasure of meeting Buddy Emmons, but I heard him and Jimmy Day a lot on the radio growing up in west TX.
One of the early influences for me was Buddy's recording on Judy Collins' song "Someday Soon".
He and I both played with Gram Parsons on his first album called GP, but of course we were on separate sessions. The recording was done at Wally Heider's studio 4 in L.A. circa '72."

As Buddy said, 'Those that talk don't know, those that know don't talk.' |

I certainly don't know. For the longest time I didn't know Perkins played pedal steel.
These guys can be kind of reticent, keeping it to themselves. The feeling may have been mutual with Emmons; one never knows. |

I'm wondering which songs Al played on and which songs Buddy played on on GP? |
