Just saw a video of the the band that plays "Have you Forgotten" (about 911)
The slide guitar player has a new fangled guitar that sounds a lot like a pedal steel.
The neck overlying the body is very thick as if it has a lot of electronic equipment in it, and the neck is slanted at 45 degrees for ease of playing.
Is this an attempt to make a stand up pedal steel? I always figured that this would come some day. Anybody know what i was seeing?

Sounds like a Melobar Skreemr. Those aren't being made any more.

Leave it to Brad to have it pegged to the nth degree! Being relatively new to the forum I haven't had a chance to say "hey" to Brad yet, but he had it right on the money! I too have seen this instrument on some of the award shows that Daryl has appeared on recently. Hat's off to knowing the details! If you hadn't seen it ya might have thought it was a Warren Haynes wanna be on a Les Paul! Great sound and playing! Great lookin' out Brad!

If you are talking about Worleys video on CMT. Its Mike Johnson playing a distorted pedal steel.

Bob,
Rusty Young played one of that design several years ago with POCO,I don't know if it was a Melobar but, they've been around awhile.
