2012 Fender Telecaster. Bought it, brought it home and it's sat in the rack. Original strings, no dents or dings. Will include Fender Tweed case. Consider trades. PayPal, money order, check. And I'll cover shipping and insurance. NEW LOWER PRICE. 675.00 shipped and insured.
Another NOTE to keep the masses happy. I'm sorry. I had previously stated in this post that this Telecaster was an "American Vintage" series. It is a normal Telecaster as noted by "US" serial number in the original posted pictures. My apologies. It's not a custom shop, it's not a museum piece, it not anything really collectable or amazing, it's a normal every day US Made Fender that can be purchased at any big box store for about 1000.00 with a gig bag. As I stated in the original post "will INCLUDE a Fender tweed case". Not intending to infer that it came with one but as written I'll include one. I don't know much about Telecasters aside from currently owning more than 2 dozen half of which are from the early 70's. So I apologize for the confusion.

Very nice. If you aren't already in an agreement with a Forum member, drop me a line. What might you be interested in if we talk trade of some sort? |

Daymon-
By 2012, Fender had started "contouring" the American Standard Tele body. You don't show the back of this Tele--Is it contoured? And The font of the logo doesn't match, either. Is this a Standard, a Special (non-contoured body) or what? I think I was first in line, ahead of David (sorry, David), but before I commit, I'd like to actually know what this is. Another pic, of the back, would be a great help.
Thanks!

It's a 2012 model, non belly cut or non-contour. If I remember correctly Fender left the belly cut off a few of these that have the Ash bodies.
I've had a few private messages as well. Holler if you need anything else.

That is NOT a 2012 Fender American Standard Telecaster. 2012 was the first year for the belly cut. The 2012 Standards had a six-saddle flat bridge plate, not the vintage plate with three brass saddles that your guitar has. Here's one that's been sold:
http://www.gbase.com/gear/fender-american-standard-ash-tel-2012-sunburs
See the belly cut? The bridge plate and saddles? Notice, too, the "Fender" logo in these photos? It doesn't match the logo on your guitar. The knobs--The 2012 has flat-top knobs. Yours has dome-tops.
The serial number--Look at this: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/z/C-4AAOSwk5FUxqEI/$_12.JPG
No space between the "US12" and the other digits, as your guitar shows. Look at this peghead:
http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/8/1/6/9/2/0/webimg/793467149_tp.jpg
See how it matches your guitar's script and layout?
What you have here, sir, is a 2012 Fender American Special
Telecaster. New, that guitar was selling for 999.00, and it came with a gig bag. You, or a previous owner, added the tweed case.
Check your PMs, once again. I'm NOT suggesting that anyone has changed a serial number, forged a "Fender" decal, or otherwise altered this guitar. Some mistakes were made in the first listing, and you tried to correct them, so there's no attempt to defraud intentionally. But some more corrections probably should be made.
Again, check your PMs. |

Thanks Stephen. Guitar was purchased from A&S music brand new by me in October of 2012 . It came with the tweed case either from the store or Fender but that doesn't matter.
My original and now edited post reflects what was on the hand written receipt I still have. I corrected that "special" comment once I was corrected by another member via private message and confirmed with the store. This is one of those 6 of one half a dozen of the other. It's an American made Fender as Fender calls them. Remained in the guitar stand, has original strings that it came with, all tags and the case. No dents, dings or scratches. It's not a collector guitar nor is it a museum piece. Just a good guitar for someone looking for a player Telecaster at a more than fair price. _________________ Steel Learnin'

I apologize, Damon. Unfortunately, there's no such thing as a "Fender Telecaster" anymore. There's the "Road Worn" series, the '52RI, the Standard, the Special, the "American Vintage" series--On any big- box store's index page, there's gonna be a slew of "Telecasters." James Burton, the "Highway One's," But a plain, good old Fender Telecaster? Not gonna be there. Another one of those sad cases where Fender shoots itself in the foot. It's the same with Strats, Jazz and Precision basses, the MIM guitars, and just to make it worse, NOW we have the "Modern Player" series. |

No problem Stephen and I appreciate the input. They've made it pretty dang harry to identify, and I made it worse by stating "special" then "standard" when all it really amounts to is a Telecaster "of sorts". Which maybe they can use as the next series. "Fender Telecaster of Sorts". _________________ Steel Learnin'

D you still have this Tele, Daymon? Will you sell it to me, or would you prefer to somebody else? Given the nature of our conversation(s), I would not be insulted. Disappointed for my buddy, maybe, be he can get over it. (Sorry--I like the little green guy.)
PM sent, once more. And I do thank you. Again, this is why Fender is killing itself. Look at the confusion that's been caused, right here in this thread. |
