I have a fiend who recently purchased a Sho Bud S-10 which dates to approximately 1974. It came with one knee lever a right moving left. He wants to add three levers and is in need of a left moving left, a left moving right, and a right moving right. We have talked to the people that build parts but he prefers the original kits if at all possible. If you have any of the kits please contact me. |

Either talk to James Morehead, who's here on the forum, or Michael Yahl at www.psgparts.com will have parts that look original, but are better made. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I agree with Lane. You might be waiting a really long time for all the original parts. I don't think Sho-Bud ever sold kits, well none that I ever saw. Even so, finding 3 would be a miracle. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Both Michael and James' kits are better than original SB hardware. IMO _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

Is the Sho-bud a Pro-1, or a Maverick? They are both an S-10 |

It is a Sho Bud S-10 built around 1974. It does not have anything on the front apron other than the Sho Bud Logo. We have talked to Michael and it appears that is the way my friend is going. Mr. Morehead has been ill and I haven't wanted to disturb him. Sho Bud did sell kits but I haven seen one in a long time. We posted this because we thought there might be someone with some old Sho Bud parts they didn't need that he could use. |

Sho~Bud definitely used to sell knee lever kits. Matter of fact, the kits would change over the years. For example, I bought a RKL knee lever kit (reversing) in 1972 and another in 1975 and neither were any way similar other than they both got the job done.
James may have original SB parts or replicas, which are better than the NOS stuff, IMHO. Michael's stuff is new but of a precision never dreamed of by Music City Mfg. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
