I was just wondering if anyone has ever compared these two amps side-by-side. I know that amp preferences are subjective... but some of you who actually play one of these fine rigs has no doubt at some point heard the other...
So I was just wondering... between these two setups... are there any, "I own one but am going to trade for the other" kind of opinions?
One of 'em costs a bundle more... but maybe that's money well spent?
Please share any experiences.
Thanks! |

Hi Jeff, while I have never owned a Stereo Steel rig, I have played through Warren Neilsen's on a couple of occasions on gigs in Australia and it was very very good, he had it teamed with a TC Electronics EFX unit and Peavey BW 1501's I think.
I use the Telonics rack rig and Telonics speakers and would have to say it is the superior unit .. the Preamp is more versatile as it has a 2nd channel (for a 2nd instrument) and a few other features which set it apart - and I have never played anywhere where it didn't sound amazing ... !
Having said that I doubt you would not be satisified with either setup - again it comes down to personal choice and what gives you what you are looking for in terms of tone and versatility. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I heard both rigs side by side this weekend. Both are excellent. There are so many variables such as speakers, vol peds, PUs, players. I don't think you could go wrong with either. I've dealt with both Gerry and Dave. They are both excellent people to deal with. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |
