I ran onto this the other day. it looks really good has dead strings and case. I'm not a player or co;;ector, so I don't know what is what. he want's $1,650.00. probably too much. just thought I'd share.

The price is only slightly higher than I see them. It is not out of line if it is in really good condition.

erv;
by dead, I mean that some seem to have life and others just a thud when you strum across.
one in particular had a rattle at the nut. looked to be a very old string, frayed and dirty.
guitar appears to have spent many years under a bed or in the closet, resting in the case.

Odd thing about Console Grandes. The asking prices keep going up and up but, in my experience, the actual selling prices haven't really changed much other than to collectors who pay the asking prices.
Most that I've seen have sold - other than to collectors - for half their asking price or less. |

that's what I was thinking, even tho' it looks really good and would be a prize retro', it's just unaffordable as a player or a conversation piece and this area is not a haven for collectors.
now if a guy has a '57 ford retractable hard top, he would have to have this to go with it.
oh, if it only had don helms; autograph....

it's an optical illusion, of sorts.
due to the camera angle, the tuning keys on this end of the picture were not in the frame.
all is well with the parts and pieces that make-up this guitar.
