On my uni 12 I have string 1 raising to G on a lever (the same one that lowers 6 and 10 to F#) but I don't seem to use it much (I use the lowers a lot). Is it to get an Em with 4 & 5? I have a C pedal for that voicing. Or is it to give a major third between 1 & 2? I know some people raise those to E & G#. And anyway 2 lowers to D. Just wonder if I'm missing something.

I suppose it equates to the high G-G# raise on the C6 too.

It's used most to get the 7th of the A chord with A & B pedals. It's good for single string licks too. I never use it, or the raise to G on string 7, for minor chords. There are so many better places to get minor chords.

Try using it to get an augmented passing chord going from the 5-1-2 B major no pedals voicing to the no pedals E major. Add the B pedal for a nice 7#5 voicing on 5-3-2-1.
Of course the b7 for the AB pedal A major is almost too obvious, but I'll mention it any way in case some newbies are reading this.
My LKR lowers 6 a whole tone and at the moment raises 1 a whole tone, but the start of the 6 lower gives me an accurate, firm half stop for 1 at G. Nice unexpected bonus.
My string two half step lower is on LKL but if you have those changes on separate knees you've got E7#9 on 8-6-2-1 too.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, for chordal work,no doubt there is more, but it also has uses for fast single note work on the top four strings.
Keep looking, Ian, and let us know what you find.

Chris
