Long and sad story. I took the changer out of my S10 PP. I ordered new lowering fingers from Emmons. It took forever, but I got them. Then I ordered new raise fingers and an axle and even though they said they had to get them made, I got them quickly. Then I discovered the old fingers had dug in and cut slots in the wood body. I carefully filed the wood down just enough to get rid of the slots. The problem now is that the fingers go to far forward before they hit the body causing the lowering rods to bind in the holes in the lowering fingers. The new lowering fingers have very little material between the rod hole and the bottom of the finger, so I don't know if I could even slot them out a little. It may even be difficult to use the tuning allen wrench thru the holes with the fingers at that angle. Is there a cure. Do I need to send it to someone to get the wood repaired, or is it gonna need a new cabinet and who could do these things? |
