Use Out 1. Expression is not an audio output.

Expression is normally something like 0-5vDC output... useful as a side-chain input for things like synthesizers, etc (my old A/D flanger has an expression pedal input).

Yes the expression outlet was originally designed to use with sensor attached to a hat for anyone disabled enough to not be able to use their foot to operate the pedal .... I'm sure it has lots of other applications as well, but use the out 1 and/or 2 for most normal useage.
