Good Morning,

This week's clip takes us back to ca. 1970:

The singer is Billy Walker. Because the band has that Conway Twitty sound, I would say it's John Hughey.

I think the singer is Jimmy C. Newman. Definitely a Conway style backing with Grady Martin style guitar. Don't have a clue on the steel player.

Yes, Jimmy C. Newman with Little Roy Wiggins. Sometimes it is really surprising to hear recordings with rather unusual combinations. Smile

Kind Regards, Walter

I hope this isn't just a weak excuse to post the notorious Shannon S-808 A again. I think it was Russ Weaver who nicknamed this cut: "Bulldozer."

Jimmy C. Newman ca. 1972-73 "The Kind of Love I Can't Forget" (Shannon S-808 A)

Johnny Gimble & Rufus Thibodeaux: fiddles / Mr. Harold Lee Chalker: pedal steel guitar
