Over here we've only ever had hanging, but I don't fancy the idea of sitting on anything that's plugged in, especially as we have twice the volts Smile

I have used Steelers Choice seats with power strips for years and absolutely love the convenience of plugging volume pedal, effects pedals, small mixer, and CD player, and sometimes amp, all into the one strip. Then just one cord to the wall plug. Would not want to be without one.

I agree, I have a power strip on my Steelers Choice seat and love it..so convenient...one switch and everything turns on. I also have an old GFI seat and bought a power strip at Lowes and attached it...I wouldnt leave home without one ! Smile

Me neither, too much trouble wrapping and unwrapping cord. Now if it was just a strip with a plug where you could plug cord into, think I would like that. I just keep and 8 ft extension cord in my pack sead that has two plugins.

Nope, my butt is hot enough. I had a seat awhile back that someone put a power strip in. It was so cruddy and full of old booze, dirt, nasties, that I took the thing out. Left the open hole in the seat. Finally gave the seat away to a young'un on the forum here, who was just starting out. Can you say "Power Conditioner"?

Jerry, you really need to run that great looking Fender amp through a power conditioner. I know...I know guys git away with it everyday. Every piece of electronic gear I own, including my flat screens, and my playback gear, computers, you name it. I have run through a conditioner. Now look online, they do make compact conditioners, I know Monster makes several. You don't need a big rack mount unit. And Jerry, check the rating on that little strip you have there. Make sure it has a high joul rating. Someone on here knows what rating you need. Those little WalMart strips are not the best thing to use. I'm just trying to help. But protect that nice Fender you have there. Great looking amplifier Jerry.
Nice seat to.... Very Happy

I have the power strip seat, but have never used it. It's on the wrong side of the seat for me...

Yeah, Ernie, do as Erv says and you will astound the audience by playing laterally with your chest to the right or left rather then straight forward in relation to the steel. Be bold!!! stevet

The keyboard-player in the band I'm with found an alternative solution. He mounted his power-strip on the front of his amp-stand, and I liked the idea so much I did the same. A couple of pieces of angle aluminium and some soft aluminium pulled-rivets and the job was done.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a black power-strip, and I wasn't prepared to paint it black so I just live with the colour. Since the steel tends to get hidden away in a dark corner of the stage, no-one sees it anyway. Being light in colour makes it easy to find in the dark when you want to un-plug a device or plug something in.

It works really well, and the cord can be wrapped around the legs when folded for ease of transport.

I got it at radio shack years ago. Had it laying around collecting dust in my misc. box. I opened it up, disconnected the power cord, bought a 3-prong power socket, cut a hole in the front of the power strip and mounted and soldered it in and bought a long computer-type power cord to use with it. Works great. I don't like the idea of wrapping a power cord underneath the seat - too much hassle.
