These are pics of the unpolished housing that I used on my painted guitars.

These are of the tuning fingers and the housing that I use on natural wood guitars. I basically construct the same housing out of wood. The price I stated before would be for the tuning fingers and shaft. I think I have about 4-5 of the aluminum housings left. I probably won't make any more of those,,,easier and cheaper to construct wood,,,whether painted or natural. The fingers I use are 5/16" spacing. I have made,,,and would make some 3/8"

Well,,,,I couldn't get a couple of the pics to upload,,,,(I think I tried to upload too big of pic and now I can't upload anything!!!) I'll try again later. I'm working on getting set up, and get materials to make some more guitars and parts. Let me know if you need the things I can provide.

OK,,,here is a pic of the housing constructed of matching wood,,,

Hey Sonny, the pics are great. 5/16 spacing is what I used and would be interested in. Do you have a piece of aluminum for the screws to press against when pushing out the fingers? These will make the head of my next build much lighter. Watch for Chris Knutsen inspired D8.

Hey Jim,,,,Yes I use 5/16". Actually on my wood housings I cut a piece of old hacksaw blade just a little longer than the housing is wide,,,cut it so there is a little "point" on both ends,,,just a little angle from each side. Bow it out to position it and when the pressure is placed on the tuning fingers it will push the ends into the wood just a little bit,,,just enough to hold it in place permanently. Of course I round off the ends of the screws so they don't dig in,,,and also put a dab of grease in the hole before placing the screw in the finger,,,then a little ball of lubricant stays on the end to contact the stop (hacksaw blade). Hope this makes sense,,,LOL
