The Hispanic Radio Station across this here USA Nation is more Traditional Country Music then the American ones who call them self,to days Country Music.Yet,owned by most of the same power-house system-Corps. At lease it's real Music from real Musicians who are doing what we did to make a career in it's own Music Business from Night Clubs that once was Country. Am going Hispanic with Vallarta,El Super,Cardenas & Superior on the markets in house air ways. Pal-Lee who fun say. Uncle Leo J Eiffert Jr the America Hispanic " Icon Super Star ". Ian,Thanks for the rock on,but,I'm real Traditional Country music with my own style of years of music in me. It's these Radio Stations that format what the Business Corp.system pays them to play by the Artist they syncopate. I still stick to the top of this topic. |

I might have to agree; it's possible that traditional Spanish-language stations have remained more traditional than country stations. Conjunto, Norteno, these are their country musics. On the English-speaking side, we may be more confused about what country is.[/i] _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

Charlie, there is no confusion about what is Traditional Country Music, but, the folks who are in charge of programming others to do it the way they see fit for money from the young folks who don't know any better, and have know sense about the instruments that makes our music-beats and how it's played. Just like most Musicians who try playing it.But can't. Traditional Country Music comes from the heart and the feet. Just like education. It has three parts of schooling for life. You get it are you don't. Same as Hell Or Heaven and Right or wrong. But,in most cases it how they mix up the styles just like a contract to confuse you to what is. The language is easy. It's called category and you know what that is. Uncle Leo J Eiffert Jr in the gossip news of the " Icon Super Star " That they don't want to engage with. |

It's true, it's not getting heart and feet. Kids that grew up without melody have a hard time. Motown was putting out spirit, and it moved your feet.
Mixing styles, they don't get the education. You right.
Programming never pays. Right or wrong, like you say; I don't know if you get it or you don't, but it comes through education if you ask me. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

You got it Charlie, Education in the Honky Tonk is where true Traditional Country Music came from. Not in Motels & Buses and doing drugs in your garage or your School System Art room. Education don't mean anything when it come to Money & BS. Again, that is what's wrong with to days Country Music & it's Radio Programmers. It's a hand full of Country Music leaders intends. It's all about their power. I make it clear and no body like it in their ear nor in there eyes when it hits who they are. So,let's just keep the Steel Guitar and it's Musicians who play it in the fore front. I do. Uncle Leo J Eiffert Jr. PS: Wish I was a Musician maybe it would help. |

Right arm and farm out....Uncle Leo. It seems what's called Americana has more steel guitar and truer country flavor than what you hear on the so-called country music stations. In downtown Oxnard, California near me, I àlways see the Mexicans bands on the sidewalks going from bar to resturants, with the big bass, accordian and fancy guitars and colorful clothes. Just the other day I saw one band walk right by the closed Theatro theater that's pictured on the front of that Willie Nelson record (Danial Lenois had it a while back as a recording studio). Those musicians and Spanish music stations are keeping that music alive. I remember when I was the only young person around with a steel guitar not that I could play it. The first time I saw long hairs play country music is whan I saw the Burritos at the Whiskey in Hollywood. I bought a ticket for Waylon Jennings at Johnnie and Joanie Mosby's club in Ventura, but couldn't get in because I wasn't 21. Hank Williams Jr. had the same problem but he was scheduled to perform. Another time at the club, it was called the Ban-Dar, some friends of mine were performing and I got up to play tamborine, Johnie behind the bar, said to get that guy off the stage. Once I brought my old friend, Pat Flynn and another friend to an outdoor Buck Owens show. We were the only long hairs there. I know Buck and Don noticed us. Someday soon, I might be older than most of the steel players on the forum. But remember Uncle Leo, keep telling us stories and there's somethng that Harpo Marx once said, and he didn't say much. A great harp musician, that never took a lesson. He said "You're only young forever". A truely spiritual statement. May God and the Chief Musician bless all us steel guitar players and everyone else. _________________ "Be Kind to Animals, don't eat Them"

Thanks Richard Wilhelm, I haven't seen " Pat Flynn " in a while who did some great guitar work on Garth Brooks early recording Sessions. I did a few with Pat myself. One of the big song that " Larry Settle " recorded that I wrote was called " Something About Your Love " that Pat Flynn did the lead guitar on. I also work with Leon Copass who lived in Oxnard. |

Excuse me again, Leo, but...
... Richard, what caught my eye was the Edgar Cayce quote. Quite a guy.
Back to California; wasn't there enough; beautiful state, from Redondo--loved Malibu & Venice--
past Berkley and Carmel, the song goes, and got to see the Palomino.
No one should live forever without going to CAlifornia.
Back to radio, I miss it. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |
