Nice Chris, are you playing through both amps. You are getting a rich sound. I like it.

Hey Lathan, I am actually not even using an amp. I have a little behringer 4 channel powered board. I am running my steel into an rv-3 pedal and directly in the board and then my DR-5 rhythm machine is also in a channel of the board. I then ran a stereo output from the board to my camera. (that is why i am wearing the headphones)

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Allen: I may have to work on that one soon!

Bill: i've had a few people ask me about lessons now, but I have never given any (partly because I live in these hills of Eastern Ky)

Henry: this was a set up I wanted to experiment with. I am using no amplifiers. I am running my steel into an rv-3 effects pedal and straight into a 4 channel behringer mixing board. I am running my dr 5 rhythm machine into another channel on the board. I then ran a stereo out into my video camera. (this is why i am wearing headphones in the video)

It turned out pretty good, but i still have a few little adjustments to make for future videos.

Thanks again everyone, I am so glad you are enjoying the music!

-Chris

Do you guys think this audio combination sounds better than my other videos? I tried this because I was having trouble with distortion at times and also the lower volume made it hard to get a great fullness from the amp. I have been experimenting for the best sound for youtube videos.

Chris, I think your sound is real good but I noticed your steel is on one side only of the recording. It may sound fuller if you do about a 60-40 pan instead of a 100% pan to one side. It may not make much difference if just listening on computer speakers but I listened on headphones and my powered speakers that have about a 10ft spread and it takes away from the fullness of steel.
Here is a recording I did but I had to record the video and then record the sound and try and get them synced which is hard to do as you can tell. This is a 60-40 pan. I did it in Studio-one and then mixed sound and audio in a little video program I have which is impossible to get synced.

I'm looking for a camera that records line in stereo, not necessarily for YouTube but to record and video our country music show. Haven't had much luck doing that. If you use mike on most cams, you get that hollow awful sound. That's why I need special camera. Some of the guys on here get a decent sound by just using cam mike but I haven't been able to do so for my ears.

Thanks Larry, Dave, and Henry!

I think the pan messed up because of the volume i had on the board channels. I didnt think about that while recording. I worked on it a little today.

Sounds good, very clear guitar (and really good playing).
You might experiment with a portion of the dry sound panned left some,
and the wet sound from the other side of the stereo mix (if possible).

Thank you Eddie, Jim, and Charlie Smile I am glad you are enjoying my videos.

Charlie- i have been working with it a little bit. This video was basically a test run for a new set up. I know I messed the level up because I really didn't even think about it where I ran the steel and back up into the board. (I should have equaled the levels out to give an even mix)
