Hi All:

Great YouTube video of a practice session of Rosanne Cash, Rodney Crowell, Albert Lee, Emmylou doing "We Don't Need No Memories Hanging Round".

I can't identify the steel player on the ShoBud LDG. Anyone?

Thanks Tommy and Joachim. I have never seen Bob Lucier in person (obviously). He is a Forumite tho. Nice to put a face and context to the name. Nice job Bob. BTW, there are a few more videos from this same session posted on YouTube with Bob on steel.

Thanks Tommy. I only know Bob from the fine Northern Steel project. Time to revisit it.

I like that one, Joachim, but is it Perkins on steel or Lucier? I suppose it doesn't matter if I can't tell....

I love that. You may not be familiar with the tuna guy from old American TV ads:
(They didn't want tunas with good taste, but tuna that taste good.)

It's a similar thing with Perkins; to someone who wasn't into steel then, he appears to have two successful careers.
For instance, I'm sure you and Bob Lucier was familiar with Perkins steel work.
I find it amazing, knowing that Al was a seminal pedal steel player.

Love what Bob does in the outro with the chromatic descension incorporating the dominant 7th - sound like he's got the half step lower on his first string.
Young and beautiful Rodney and Rosanne.
I also love their duet "It's Such a Small World" too.
They would have made a good president and first lady, or perhaps president and first gentleman.

I think the reason you don't see Charlie Tuna any more is because.
