Doug Jernigan
Steel Guitar Hall of Fame star Doug Jernigan and the Eddie King Band, prominent Nashville musicians, are making their first appearance on the Palace stage in Crossville April 4 at 7 p.m. Jernigan is a concert performer, records with a host of country music stars and plays on the Opry. What was previously thought to be impossible, Doug has perfected on the steel guitar — banjo rolls and fiddle riffs needed for complete tunes. Joining these two great musicians will be three of Crossville’s favorites.
Tommy Davenport, popularly known as Tommy Dee, is a local guy that has been around! He has played guitar and sang in several foreign countries. A few years after settling down in Florida, he moved back to his roots in Crossville and has entertained in various venues.
Terri Utsey began singing publicly at the Palace Theatre in 2010 and since then, has been a popular and frequent Palace Theatre entertainer. A versatile performer, she is able to sing opera as comfortably and as well as country. She has performed with the Trackside Band, Cumberland Jamboree and for many benefits as well as singing at Carnegie Hall. She is now singing with the Swing Street Band.
Retiring after serving with the Navy for 26 years, Chuck Tallent moved to Crossville. He had played guitar and sang with family members and friends in the 1960s until he joined the Navy in 1968. Not until 2009 did he finally go on stage at the Palace Theatre. Tallent is a popular performer around town for various venues and has released his solo CD in December 2014 called “Timeless.â€
Terry King is proud to bring these talented musicians to the Palace stage April 4 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 and may be bought in advance.
