It's still difficult for me to accept the fact that there will be NO MORE Jerry Byrd tunes to hear for the first time...........so sad.

Any of you having some early records or tapes of Jerry's playing........it would be nice to hear them.

Wonderful. I'd not seen that performance before. That A9 tuning (identified as such in the comments on the vid) sounds worth exploring. An easy tweak from A6, minus the low bass strings. Is that one Jerry used much?

I'm quite certain Jerry picked up that tune after hearing Pua Almeida.

The "Friends" are Hiram Olsen, Dennis "Bla" Keohokalole, and Gary Aiko.
