Gene Crownover.

I think that is an excerpt from Billy Gray's TV show. That's Billy introducing Bob. I think the entire 26 minute show was on Youtube somewhere--as of several years ago.

It does sound like he yells "Gene!" leading into one of his solos.

Try to run down the entire show if you can.

It includes some performances by the Gray band with I think Denny Mathis on steel. Maybe around 1959? From WFAA in Dallas.
