What's the best way to hook up a Profex to a Nashville 112 so it's quiet?

They're a little bit hissy by nature, if that's your complaint. If it's really hissy, keep it before your volume pedal.
If hiss isn't your issue, what is?
PS: just because I hate them sumbitches doesn't mean others can't make them work or that I can't try to help. And I don't hate them for the hiss....

One other thought:
Those two boxes have 4 volume/gain controls. Keep the master volume wide open. Play with the other three values and see which setting combination sounds best (depending on where the hiss comes from).

| If you are running it through the front or the effects loop, you might try the 'power amp in' jack in the rear. The Profex acts also as a preamp, so the front EQ controls are redundant. |

| I had the same problem and I added an input jack on the back panel of the Profex II and tied it to the second stage input with a small resistor. you can put any preamp you like in front of it or just use the from/to jacks on a Nashville amp, the jack must be a shorting jack for the Profex II. and I also added a mini switch to the front panel for bypass or input select however you see it. It gets rid of two high gain stages in series and that is where all the noise is being generated, It also works in the post EQ effects loop. |

I have recently been playing a Profex II output plugged into the power amp in on back of the Nashville 112 and it is super quiet and sounds very good to me.

Dale, I find that when using the Profex II into the front of the amp I like to use it as an effects unit with the pre-amp removed from the Profex II chain. I delete the 3B, 4B or whatever EQ is in the chain and reverse the mix and output levels on the effects. It sounds really good to me then you can use the EQ in the amp without the EQ in the Profex II.

Jerry I read you saying something to that effect... may I shoot you an email with a Profex ll setting that I use, perimeters and all, so you could tell what/how to do that?
