I have been watching the threads on the Sierra company with interest. Years ago when I wanted to move up to a better guitar from my MSA semi-classic, I looked long and hard at the Sierra. I ended up with a MSA because the Sierra was the Cadillac and I couldn't justify the extra money. I think that over the years the Sierra has stayed in business because of the technical excellence in design and engineering. I still wish I could have bought a Sierra.
However, no one can ignore the new Cadillac in the steel guitar market. I don't think there is room for two Cadillacs. I don't know the business ins and outs at Sierra but I can imagine a drop in sales over the last year.
I hope that Sierra can over come the business difficulties. I think that their Artist line is a solid guitar but seriously overpriced for the market. I would like to see an updated Sierra top-of-the-line that reflects the use of new materials. I would also like to see the Sierra make an attempt at making their wonderful guitars look more like mainstream guitars.
This is my two-cents worth and is strictly a personal opinion.
