Just got home from the Dallas Steel Show. Had a wonderful time, lots of good players and a nice all around event. My thanks to all who who were involved in making this happen. It is a lot of hard work and hard planning. I enjoyed everyone but kudo's to J.D. Maness, Buck Reed and Sid Hudson. I better hush, there are just so many good ones. I missed my friend Henry Matthews set but heard very good things about it. Curtis Potter was outstanding but he always is. I put my name on the roster to attend again next year. Yes J.R., the Dallas show was great and thanks to Albert and the gang at TSGA for putting on another great show. Congrats to Paul King on receiving the Steel Player Of The year award, it was well deserved for Paul, he is a great player and a fantastic guy.
I enjoyed getting to play fiddle with some of the players and thanks to Dean Baxter for letting me step in at times. Thanks to Cecil Johnson for letting me play fiddle on his set too, what a great player Cecil is. I didnt get to attend Saturday but heard it was even better than Friday. Buck, JD, Doug, Joe, Sid and all the rest just blew me away with their playing. Yep JR, I'll be there next year too. _________________ Henry Matthews

Wish I could have made it but too many shows not enought money. But next year I'll be there. I'm going to the Tulsa show this year, haven't been in nearly 30 years when it was held in just one meeting room. _________________ Keep pickin', Larry |
