Well I have been horsetrading for a while now and feel I can just chill out for a now and enjoy my setup, Maybe I am alone in this as I know we are all searching for the holy grail of tone, playability, and other things, but I finaly have a setup and no complaints, its lightweight easy and quick to setup and stays in tune like a dream.

2003 Carter SD-10
nash 400 with the head cut out and
put into a fender-like head cabinet, and the
BW 15 in another cabinet (thanks to a generous forumite). no pieces over 45 lbs, easy to get in and out of the car.
its bliss right now.

darn I just realized i am gonna want a Hilton pedal, so all is not perfect but pretty darn close.

Anyone else feel settled with their gear
or is everyone permanently horse trading?

I've been playing the same rig since "84, so

I'm stablized! I've used my 1972 Emmons dbl-8 with Session 400 and LA400 and ProFex II w/ Emmons foot pedal. Weighs a couple of tons but the enjoyment of playing this fine combination makes it all worth while. I purchased a conversion van which makes it somewhat easier to pack around.
Of course, I've been gigging with various
Rick Bakelites and my little Harmony 8 inch amp. It's about 27 lbs and the only way to go. The toughest thing I've found is waiting for the tubes to light up...........

Me too,
I just traded in a steel and got me an Evans amp last week.

I now use: Sho-Bud SD10 Baldwin, Evans SE200, Goodrich L10K, John Pearse bar and George L cables.

However, it hurt to let my Sho-Bud Pro III Custom go

I'm very, very happy with the sound of my rig, but it leaves a lot to be desired in weight and ease of setup. The guitar is light enough. It's them darn tube amps that weigh me down.
