I ordered a DV Mark Multiamp and a Ground Control MIDI pedal for it. I have an old Ernie Ball Volume pedal and would like to convert it for use as an expression pedal with the Ground Control. I understand I will need to replace the pot with a linear taper. Can anyone suggest a source? Thanks |

I'd start with Radio Shack. Even if the pot went scratchy, I'm not sure it'd notice because the voltages are higher (and it doesn't see the audio signal), and it's only 5 bucks. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

All the pots I saw at RS were split-shaft... and this was *before* the bankruptcy.

is the best I've found for guitar/amp/pedal parts... I'd worry more about the physical dimensions of the pot and less about the actual ohms... 50Kohms might just work fine, and be less noisy, than 250Kohms. Linear, of course. You'll probably need to get a 3-conductor ('stereo') jack for your pedal, since the box you're controlling normally supplies +5 (or whatever) on one wire... check the manual for this. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked and found pots designed for pedals with the long shaft and linear taper in 3 values: 125K, 150K and 200K. Earlier research suggested maybe 10KL but so far haven't found. |

David, if you find a source of 10K pots, (long shaft), please post it. I want to build a volume pedal for my MusicMan amp, and they also recommend a 10K. |
