Traded locally. Old ad below.

Up for sale is my trusty Fender 400. Got it from a widow whose husband kept it well maintained, and I've endeavored to do the same over the last 2 years.

$1000 + shipping, PP accepted with fees included.

The low-down:

- Has roller nut, jaguar pickup and sunset finish (suggesting mid-to-late 60s as I understand it)
- Pseudo-Emmons setup - outer pedals raise/lower E's, inside pedal act as A-B - 90% of most chord voicings are available. Tuned to E9
- Beautiful tone, a Ralph Mooney sound
- Well maintained - I've cleaned, oiled and kept it operating well.
- It's an old instrument, so there's finish chips, and dents, etc. - this isn't a museum piece

Also - I'm including split cases for the instrument from Kevin Hatton, as well as the original case. These make transport a breeze.

Feel free to ask any questions, and I can add more pictures. Note that the leg bag is in tough shape - still functions, but has a hole and the top is cut off.

Local to Minneapolis if you want to avoid shipping.

Thanks for looking!

bump

FYI - if you're relatively local to Minneapolis and can help me avoid shipping and/or PayPal, I can come down a little.

Great guitar. Looking to downsize LOL. How is each string tuned open? I'd sure like to buy this.

Hi Chris,

I have it tuned (low to high) as follows:

B - D - E - F# - G# - B - E - G#

The pedals, 1-4, currently change the pitch as follows:

1: Raises E's to F
2: Raises B to C#
3: Raises G# to A
4: Lowers E to D#

Ergo, basically an emmons setup you'd see on a 2-lever guitar, but without the chromatics. But it's real easy to both change the pitches used as well as pedals (a benefit of the cable system).
