This is the D Lever on a Fessenden D10.
Photo 1 is the lever straight up. Photo 2 is the lever at the point where it starts to engage.
Is there supposed to be this much play before the pitch starts to change? There is no way to adjust this. Is this happening because the thin part that bolts on needs to be longer?
The F lever becomes ridged just past the point where it is straight up. This appears to be because the piece of flat metal that bolts on is long enough to hold the lever ridged.
On a Fessenden, does anyone know if the Size and shape of the D and F levers are exactly the same?

James, your pictures show two different levers. The first picture looks like LKL, which raises the E's to F, correct? The second picture looks like LKR which lowers both E's. I believe you are wanting to adjust the angle of LKR, so that the lever is more vertical. Fold the lever down, and look down into the slot where the lever is mounted. There should be an Allen set screw there, which makes contact with the end of the lever. That is your angle adjustment for the lever. If you want to change the angle of the lever [second picture] use an Allen wrench to turn the Allen screw out, so it makes contact with the lever sooner. If the screw is missing, get a new one, I think they are 8-32 screws. But you can remove one from another lever to check, before you buy. I hope this helps, |

I can't thank you enough. I wouldn't have found that in a thousand years. Calculus would be no problem. It is this simple stuff that gets me. The screw was there. I just had to twist it a couple of turns and that did it. _________________ Curbside Jimmy's New Act

Bill, I do have one more question if you don't mind.
Do you know if the RKL and LRL on this guitar are of identical size and shape?
They look the same but I need to make sure there are no minor differences. _________________ Curbside Jimmy's New Act

James, I believe they are the same. I have had a couple of Fessys and I don't remember noticing any difference. I think they are 3/8" thick and 3/4" wide. Glad to help. |
