Hey Guys,

Here's an extended freebie promo of Mike Johnson in the studio. He's giving in-depth commentary and recording all the parts from Joan Marie, a song from one of his solo records.

http://youtu.be/70KyY9GNUPk

Enjoy the video.

Thanks for listening.

That I chord to the II chord change was really nice.

How did he get those changes on the same fret? He got a D, E and a G on the same fret. I am guessing it was on the 5th fret. I guess I could go to my guitar and figure it out, but I'm having trouble with my recliner. I just can't get out of it right now.

Mark LeBlanc, I think you have a good thing going on here.

Those are nice moves and sound really great. Mark Greenway, get our of that recliner and start playing. It depends what strings, pedals and levers you use. It is all on one fret. Notice when he goes up to the 10th fret it is the same chord change and Mike does it just as good as anyone I have ever heard.

I play this song a lot and mike can make arrangements like no other.
The d chord 5 fret a&b pedals down
The e chord pedals down lower e strings
G chord 5th fret pedals down strings 5,6, and 9 which really is out of the gmaj7 chord but plays nicely over the g chord

Got it. Thanks Jeremy. I appreciate that. Getting a G chord at the 5th fret using the 9th string is too cool. I like it.

Paul King, my guitar sounds better when I'm in my recliner than when I am behind it. Very Happy Smile

Mark, I am really sorry to say that I just saw your post on this topic this morning (Sunday). Now I guess I am totally hooked!! What a great player Mike Johnson is; but having said that- as I watched some of the other pickers you have on there....Wow! Mike Daly, Gary Morse, Steve Hinson, Randle Currie; there are certainly no mediocre steelers in the bunch! Quality of sound and video is excellent. Only thing better would be sitting in the studio with them, and to think when I first saw your mentioning of this on the forum I didn't think I would be interested. Count me in! Thanks, Roger Very Happy Smile
