here is the transcription to Jitterbug Waltz that Deirdre asked for.
some notes:
- i have a little adapted intro on this from Chets guitar part - let these notes ring.
- this is how i think Jerry played the main theme - i tried it the other way, using slants on just 2 strings and i just don't think he did it that way...so here is my best guess. obviously Chet is playing a harmony part on guitar along with him so its hard to tell by the timbre of the strings as they are obscured.
- I'm pretty sure he played this on a 7 string with the C# & C - he gets a full chord in measure 17 so if you want to play both the intro and the full chord, you need a 7 string..i have one, but you might not so...
- there is a 3rd ending (the final one) i didn't include. i just did this as a basic transcription, not the entire off the record TAB. he also plays the bridge an octave higher the second time around.
oh - 1 more important note - be aware that that the main decending theme starts on the upbeat of beat 1 - if you don't understand that - it won't work.
so its 1(rest) & 2 & 3 &.... and its a waltz - 3/4 time, just in case.
thats it - have fun!
