For those who might care. I recently got a Carter S12 to take on the road with Buddy Jewell. I LOVE IT. Very positive feeling and stays in tune SO well. I love playing a double neck, but when the C6 neck is not needed, why set up all those extra rods and carry the extra weight. I have already had back surgery once. But, I am working on getting the funds together to order a D12 Carter. That is how much I like it!

Glad to hear you dig the Carter. Did you change the tuning?

Dave, loved your Theme Park CD. I just got a used Carter D12 that is over 5 years old with some pretty regular use. It is still in great shape, and only slightly heavier than my Fessy S12. The Carter is a very well designed solid, smooth, good sounding guitar. The slim-line body and neck (height-wise) give the Carter a different look and feel, but that is all psychological and doesn't affect the way it plays.

You make it, I'll play it (sort of).

Hi all, David, the only full band show I know of in Kansas is on Oct. 23 in Kansas City. Drew, I love the guitar and only had to add one pull and switch two knee levers. It is so easy to work on it was done in a jiffy. I head out tonight for Zanesville OH, Milwaukee and Richmond VA with my Carter in tow. See ya on the road maybe?

Larry, I don't know what venue we will be at. Give me a call this weekend and I'll let you know. Leave a message on my cell. David, I don't have my calender with me right now and have to leave in a minute, but you can check BuddyJewell.com and see most of the dates we will be doing. Some of them are without full band. E-mail me or call before coming to a gig.
Gotta go...

Hi Dave, come out one Saturday and sit in with us at Tootsies.I have "The Beast" D-12 Emmons (it`s not a Carter but it doesn`t sound too bad),I need to hear someone who know how to play that thing to get some idea what to do with those extra strings...

Dave R. Are you playing in Chatanooga?

That might be part way between Virginian and St. Louis. Maybe I'll drive though. I haven't booked trains or cars yet.
After hearing Theme Park I would love to hear you play, even if it's not the same stuff.

No Chattanooga show for me. I just found out we(Buddy Jewell and full band) are in Pittsburgh, KS this weekend on August 23. I believe it's a club date, so I should be able to hang out a bunch. Let me know if any of you will be there.
Earnest, I'll figure out a way to post my tuning. I've seen yours (i think) and I don't really have any thing too acky. Just an extended E9 with PF changes, my C6 has a low A and the D on the first and G on the second string. Mostly standard changes there too. I have one pedal that evolves every couple of years though.

Oh yeah, hi Richard, I'll let you know if we come out your way for sure brother. It would be to see you again. How long has it been?
Damir, what nights are you down on Broadway? I have an Emmons D-12 also. It has the "Basket Weave" finish. I would love to have yours too, but I have 3 D-12 now and plan on getting a Carter soon. Plus, I have not really played the Emmons in years. Someday I will again pull it out and be blown away by it.
Jim, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner on the Zanesville show. I left for the road before I saw your post. We played at a theatre called Secrest, or something like that. It was a great sounding room. Next time maybe?

Hey Dave, what does that Carter weigh in a standard case? Or, a flight case for that matter?
Thanks

Dave,I`am supposed to play on Saturday from 6-10 pm in the back room, but I just got an email from the guitar player that few of the players had been fired and that band may not need steel guitar anymore.(what else is new, thank God I have a day job so I can care or less). So I`m not sure if I`m going to be there this coming Saturday or not.i`ll let you know.Three D-12 ??? my gosh ,you are the man my friend. It is a very interesting instrument.I used bottom strings for some rhythm rifs and I think I blow my amp.Too deep for the regular amp I guess ,i`m trying to get a new Webb now,it can handle those bottom strings people say...
Sincerely,DB

Dave,

I caught one of your shows several weeks ago in Berea, Ohio - the one with Clint Black headlining - and noticed you had a Carter then - from where I was sitting (near the sound board) your tone and playing was flawless. Sounded better than the other Emmons guitars - oops, better put on my flame retardent suit now!
