Bob, My 80XL has the speaker jack. I believe they stop putting the jack on the current model 80GX.

Bob, My cube 80GX does not have an extension speaker jack, my 80XL did. The 80GX is 4 or 5 lbs lighter and has the aux. input on the top.

It's about the easiest thing in the world to add the jack... in fact, you could add two jacks, one in series (like the original) or one to take over the internal speaker completely (min 8 ohms!). These amps will never be 'collectable' so drilling multiple holes in the back (side, whatever) should be no concern.

I have two Cube 80XL amps and both have extension speaker jacks on the back. I've never tried using them, though. If I'm going to haul an extra box to the gig, I just take the second Cube 80XL and play through both of them.

I wouldn't be too sure. The earliest Cubes are already bringing pretty decent prices. And, I just picked up a Cube 60 to replace my expired 80X, and for all my skepticism, I do declare the 60 does somethings better than the 80, even though they are both 12" boxes, with very similar features. The cabinet is slightly different, and some folks believe they changed the speaker and re-voiced the amp with the 80. So some folks have traded their 80s for a 60. BUT collect-ability wouldn't stop me from adding a speaker jack. In fact, you could dangle a female 1/4" jack thru the vent slot, and not drill anything.

Lee....I have 2 Roland 80XL's like you, but only use one with speaker out connected to an empty Nashville 400 cabinet with a Neo powered Black Widow. Great spread of sound with the open backed Nashville cab. I know it's supposed to be a power loss with an extension speaker, but audibly there doesn't seem to be any difference...as you know they are "LOUD" amps Very Happy
