I'm gonna go with big Ben Keith on an early Sho-Bud, I believe this is from 1959. _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

Agree that I think it's Ben Keith (poor guy could barely fit his legs under any guitar). And that may be a Wright steel?

Ben Keith is the steel guitarist who played in Neil Young's band and could also be heard on country records. He actually has a Christmas record called "Seven Gates, which features him playing the steel guitar, as well as vocals by Johnny Cash and other artists. |

Buddy Emmons said in an interview that Don Warden got the first single neck Sho-Bud guitar, and Big Ben Keith got the first double neck Sho Bud…that is definitely a Sho Bud guitar-therefore,it may be the first double neck Sho Bud guitar… |

Ben also played the haunting steel parts on Patsy Cline's I Fall To Pieces hit. I thought it was pretty cool. Totally contrary to the way other steel players play. |
