The Rhode Island Steel Guitar Association (RISGA) will be meeting on February 8th for our next quarterly meeting at the Common Fence Point Community Hall
933 Anthony Road
Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Going South on Route 24 (from I-195) take Exit 3 (after crossing over the Sakonnet River Bridge)
Take a right at the stop sign, take second left to go under the railroad bridge onto Anthony Road.
Community Hall is approximately 0.3 miles on the right.
Going North on Route 24 (from Newport) take Exit 3 (before crossing over the Sakonnet River Bridge)
Take the first left onto Hummocks Ave., then take the first right to go under the railroad bridge onto Anthony Road
Community Hall is approximately 0.3 miles on the right.
Please bring a food dish for potluck and the drink of your choosing.
There is a refrigerator but no cooking facilities. There is no bar service (BYOB).

Jam Sessions begin at 1:00 (no entry before 12:30PM)
Business meetings begin around 2:30 PM.

I believe the song of the day is "Crazy" (in "A").

Hope to see you there!

Pete

Hey Pete thanks for the reminder! I guess I still have 14 days to figure out Crazy Arms in A.

Anybody got a new tune to show us?

Roger Trahan and I thought a Hawaiian song would be appropriate for our ambassador Eddie Cunningham. It might serve as psychosomatic healing for him like it did with Chuck Rodrigues`s purchase of his new Quilter amp.

OK I'll just remove the arms!

I like the idea of a Hawaiian song for Eddie. Any suggestions?

Just bumping up. I just learned Blue Hawaii in the key of C. Don`t tell any RISGA members so that I`ll have an advantage over the pickers attending the meeeting.

Hi Jim Rice, If you have the strings in stock, bring 2each, 40, 44, 50, and 60. I started making transposing music wheels. You might be interested in selling them in your store. I`ll bring one with me if the weather allows.

Hey Manny - I have the 44, 50 and 60 strings! I'll check on the 40's and bring them all if I can make it to the meeting. They are predicting anouther 6-12 inches of snow up here, less in RI.

The Rhode Island Steel Guitar Association meeting scheduled for tomorrow, February 8th, 2015, has been re-scheduled to next Sunday, February 15th, 2015. This decision was made due to bad weather and possible heavy snow accumulation making driving difficult, especially for the folks a little further north (like me and Jim). See you all next Sunday!!!
