Hi All.
My Bakelite Rickenbacher lap steel 1935 in missing it's headstock logo, Rickenbacker no longer provides
any parts for these steels, so can I ask if anyone has
one for sale, or what do others do for replacements?
Thanks.

I would think eBay would be your best option. I've never seen one not attached to an existing guitar.
You might post on the Rickenbacker Resource Forum.
Good luck on your search! _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Thanks Brad.
Had a posting on Ricksource for several weeks now,
as you say though Ebay is probably the only place
one might show up.
I am aware that this is a longshot.

You may be able to find a logo on an old amp that is beat up enough not to make you feel too guilty about swiping it. _________________ Time flies like an eagle

Thank you gents I will certainly look at these
suggestions, these opportunities don't arise very often , certainly not in England. |

Ron.
Strange one this, auction gives no shipping details to the UK, neither are you able to make contact with him using(contact the seller) to find out, never had that before.

The auction says "Shipping to: United States". i.e. the seller does not ship outside of the USA. |
Yes I saw that Doug, it has also been the case many times when bidding on old 78 rpm recordings when I have
contacted the seller I very often found that they DO in
fact ship overseas contrary to the details listed.

But under "Find answers" under the shipping category it says:
Do you offer international shipping?
This seller doesn't offer international shipping. |

I read that eBay now has an international shipping system for sellers who otherwise would not want to ship overseas. A USA seller can ship the item to an eBay facility, I think it's in Kentucky, and eBay repacks the item, puts in their own invoice, and ships to the buyer in another country. Last I heard there were some problems and complaints, and eBay was trying to force sellers into the program.

Shipping small items like records, books, CDs, etc. internationally is not much of a problem for most sellers. I've shipped hundreds of my books all over the world. But I stopped selling guitars internationally a couple of years ago. With larger, heavier, more valuable items it's just not worth the risk IMO. Once it leaves the country tracking becomes difficult and there is always a risk of loss, theft, or damage. With the standard postal service, delivery is done by the post office in the other country. If there is a problem it's almost impossible to find out what happened in that country, from here. _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel

I appreciate your help Doug and I confess that I overlooked the Ebay shipping scenario, although it is absent from this listing, the Ebay posting hub is as you say in Erlanger, Kentucky, and I have found it most helpful in the past, this auction if it did include postage to the UK Is already over my budget for the logo when considering that it has not yet reached it's reserve, I would over the years have purchased a multitude of items from the Usa if it were not for postage/duty costs added to affordable items, and then when receiving broken rare 78rpm recordings and a brand new resonator guitar with it's cover plate caved in and dents on the back one get's very wary of how things will pan out when you think that all I am trying to do is enjoy instruments
and music, for my purposes the Usa is where it's at, as I wish to play Hawaiian steel guitar and enjoy it's players I have no choice but to come here for help and advice, I have though found an item that I shall spend the funding on (without telling the boss)
and I will post it here for you to see, when I find out how to put pictures in posts.
Thanks Doug
