I had to post pictures of this. I've never seen anything quite like it. It's a keyless 8-string. Instead of tuning keys, The levers shown in the second picture are the tuning mechanism. You tune it with an allen wrench. Johnie made one with a nice handle. This idea may be old hat to some of you pedal players, but it's new to me. I was a little hesitant about it, but I'm glad I went for it. They work quite well. Stays in tune and string changes are much easier. The pickup was wound by Harry Jackson.
In the last picture, that's the jack hanging out in the breeze. The nice walnut cover plate that it was attached to got damaged in transit. Johnie's making another out of thicker material. I did have it plugged in long enough to tell that it sound's really nice.
There was a similar ten string he had posted in the classified. If you blinked, you missed it. I assume someone grabbed it. This is my second ZKing. I got one of the early six strings, and love it.
