Hello everyone !

Joined this great forum just recently and wanted to introduce myself .

Been a guitar player and vintage guitar nut for 30 years. Worked at a few used/vintage musical shops in the SF Bay Area back in the 90's. Going to vintage guitar shows back then I Allways loved seeing the vintage lap steels and amplifiers. Someday I told myself. I study and play the 60's california sound of surf & hot rod music, Gary usher, Brian Wilson, Bruce Johnston, The wrecking crew and so on. Vintage Hawaiian music and exotica music to follow closely . The hawaiian steelers of the days gone by with their grace and beutifull tone Allways intrigued me.

Last summer at a vintage guitar show down in L A California, I fell in love and purchased I believe a 1940's Oahu lap steel with original case and oahu picks with a nick manoloff plastic bar and a black oahu tone bar. I love that the pickup cover has the oahu stamp.

I've purchased the jerry byrd BIG book and looking forward to many years of studying the c6th tuning. And I'm sure I will have questions along the way. Looking forward to my new journey......

Cheers, Thomas.

Hi Thomas, welcome to the SGF. By looking at your back story and interests, and your Oahu I would say you have no hope . . . of escape. Mr. Green
