The next SouthEast Texas Steel Guitar club meeting in Katy will be on Sunday Feb 1st 2:00pm (Earler time due to SuperBowl). Don't forget to set your clocks back for Daylight Savings time. The building will be open at 1:30pm for setup.
We will meet at Life Church which is located at 26189 Westheimer Parkway in Katy.
Featured Player:
Dale Thomas
Dale Thomas is a very versatile and talented player. Dale has a big swing band back in Iowa and is a worship leader at his church. He does
a good job at everything from traditional country to western swing and pop stuff.
We will also have a jam time for those who bring their steel guitars.
We want more steel players to be featured. If you only have 2-3 prepared songs. we can arrange for a short featured spot just let us know.
Directions to the LIFE Church building are:
From I-10 W (Katy) :
Take the exit for Pin Oak Rd ( Katy Mills Mall - exit 740 I think? )
Take Pin Oak Rd. south.
Pin Oak Rd will turn into Westheimer Parkway
Take Westheimer down to Life Church @ 26189 Westheimer Parkway on the right
Park your car in the back parking lot and enter the youth room through the back door. You can also park in the front. Usually one of the doors on the left is unlocked.
(PS - No smoking on church property)

March 1 - Not Meeting
April 5 - Not Meeting. Easter Sunday
May 3rd - Back to normal meeting schedule

| I agree, Jim! Randy & David would be a nice addition, especially since there is not another meeting until May. Also, Dale Thomas is a "not to be missed player" that is only here during the winter months. |

Life Church is having a Super Bowl party and invites us to stay for hamburgers & hot dogs and to watch the game starting at 4:30pm. During half time, some of the members are being baptized.
PS. I may bring my steel and jam a little too. |

| We had a great meeting and jam. Dale Thomas was our featured player and, as usual, he did a great job with his combination of swing, pop and country. We had a good group of jam players including Danny Kirby, Craig Schmidt, Brandon Ordoyne, Dale Thomas, Marty Holmes, and David Hubenak,. Larry Schoppe played bass and did some vocals. Billy Phelps did a great job on lead guitar, Patty Phelps on bass, and Jim Saunders on rhythm guitar. Bobby Keith did great on drums. |
