I bought a push pull recently and one of the leg clutches needs help. The split ring and the beveled (brass?) ring seem to be in fine shape. I think the threads are stripped in the first centimenter or so of the clutch. If I remove the split ring and brass ring, the clutch will thread on. If I put in just the split ring, it will thread. But when I use the brass ring and split ring, I can't get the threads to engage. Any fix? If not, should I just purchase a new clutch assembly from Atlas mic? I'm aware of the wood dowel fix (currently in use), but would like to get it back to full functionality.

Check where the treads are stripped at. If the missing or pulled threads are in the screw on sleeve you tighten the legs with. Order a repair kit, With a new sleeve included in the kit.

If the threads on the leg itself, Are stripped or pulled, You would have to get a new leg to solve the problem.

Check the threads on both parts, Then decide what will cure the problem.

Using a dowel rod for a quick fix will help, Till you get new parts for the long term cure.

Good Luck on project and Happy Steelin.
