This appears to border on false advertizing. If Sho-Bud had custom built this the name would already be there. What does the seller have in common with the Steel industry. Are they a dealer, Player , or what?????. I personally get a Red Flag. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works.

The seller's name and website links are consistant with Ernie Pollock of Ernie's music, who's store is linked to from b0b's links -- http://www.hereintown.net/~shobud75

I've never heard a bad thing about ernie before my guess is that he is just reselling an instrument that someone else already refinished, or it could have been an odd custom finish color somewhere down the line. ShoBud did pump out a LOT of steels over the years. ANd his price on this guitar on his site is pretty good, actually for a D-10 Professional with 8+4.

I suspect it was grained to match the woodwork in the owner's house?

ShoBud would have Never Hand brushed with a regular house paintbrush peuk Green.....as this steel has been.
This would be a piece of cake to strip and re-stain and re-finish....if someone wanted a perfectly good ShoBud.

Gino: Thank you so much for your kind words, and yes that guitar is one of mine. The pictures of it do not do it justice, and the original owner claims it to be a factory ordered guitar. The name plate on it with his name, was taken off by me so that a new owner could put his name on the plate if he wished to do so. I have never 'ripped' anyone off on a pedal steel, and as you said it is a good deal for someone who wants a doubleneck with 8&4 and can live with that color. It would be a nice guitar for someone to have refinished. It sounds just great and really has not seen a lot of playing over the past 15 or so years. I am very sorry if I hurt someones feeling by offering to sell this guitar, please, accept my appology if I offended any of these nice fellows who made the comments here on the forum.

Ernie Pollock [PS: I have another real nice ShoBud Pro III Custom thatI will be listing on the forum soon]

Actually folks, that could very well be that steel's original finish. Duane Marrs called it "antique" as there was a guitar or 2 at the "skunk works" (upstairs at Sho-Bud) that had that finish at the time I was ordering mine ('72) & I asked him about it. He advised me against it as he said it was prone to chip.
I think you've got a diamond in the rough there, Ernie.

Ernie, most players could live with the green color and the nameplate, but them white leg tips really must go! (LOL!)
