I replied to the topic of Tater's hospitalization about Gene Watson keeping us informed on his facebook page about his condition. I scrolled down on his page and he had put Pretty Paper on right at Christmas. Its a little late, but the singing is Standard Gene Watson and some beautiful steel work. Didn't find a credit, but may be Mr. Green. Im sure someone will know. Its well worth a listen.

There was a Christmas compilation cd released in 2006 called "Still Believing In Christmas". "Pretty Paper" by Gene Watson is the 2nd track on the cd. The 3 steel players listed in the credits are Dan Dugmore; Lloyd Green and Scotty Sanders.

Dan Dugmore - Tracks 1,3,4,6,7 & 9

Lloyd Green - Tracks 2,10,12,13 & 15

Scotty Sanders - Tracks 5 & 11

Lloyd did the steel work on Pretty Paper.

I bought this cd strictly because Gene Watson had a song on it. I have never heard of another Christmas song recorded by him.

On his facebook page, listed below, there is a recording of Silver Bells with Gene and George Jones. Nice easy listening.

That song can be found on this 2013 cd. This is all old material originally done back in the '70's. George Jones never released a Christmas album so this is the first time his Christmas material has appeared on a cd. He does tracks 2, 3, 5, 7, 9(Silver Bells), 11 and 13.
Tracks 1 and 16 are George and Tammy duets and the remaining tracks are from Tammys' 1970 Christmas lp.
