Don't mean to start a fight. But if you're interested in seeing a great video of superlative right hand when palm blocking, look this one up on YouTube.

The Texas Trobadours with Buddy Charlton and Leon Rhodes. The specific song is Cool It.

Great camera angles to show right hand position. It also shows the bent finger picks many advocate, and the use of the thumb and middle finger for the majority of single note runs.

Another B C clip but this time on a slow ditty. Notice how his index, when not in use, is, as Buddy mention, "in the way!"

Also, Paul, if anyone asks (as they do) what's the difference between the two necks - there's a one-link answer!

I'm learning from William Litaker and his guidance toward my posture (elbows in) and picking hand have been invaluable. He learned from Jeff Newman and really works to continue that method of palm-blocking, and the other things he learned. It makes my day seeing these videos. Charleton is probably my favorite picker and the man's fingers sound like magic, but seeing his hands at work like this is mesmerizing.
