I'm reading threads and watching youtube clips and a lot of the terminology is alien to me as a 6 string guitarist.

Is there a glossary anywhere to guide me through?

Thanks

If you don't already have the Winnie Winston book, get one and read it. It may seem dated in this modern digital age, but much of what you need can be found between its pages.

Countless players have benefitted from this book since it first came out back in the '70s.

Thanks

I'm just doing the research to see if I think my mind can handle learning this awesome but intimidating instrument, while I save up for one and explain my love for them to my wife!

In that case, the Winston/Keith book is the best use you'll have of thirty bucks.

I second steelguitar.com. Not only does the site describe most pedal steel components and how they work wonderfully, but the "6-string player?" video on the beginners page is the best intro to the basic chords formed from pedal/knee combinations I've seen.

Also, if there's anything else you need answered, shoot me a message. If I don't know, I'll ask for you here, so nobody will know it's you asking a stupid question.
