On the 4th of July, I played outdoors for only the second time. I'd forgotten since the previous time (two years ago), that the sun hits the guitar, and I can't see the strings worth a darn.
I thought of putting a towel under the strings, but then wouldn't have been able to see the fret board. Not having time to put a lot of thought in to it, I just suffered through, but had a tough time.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

| Fisherman's polarized sunglasses? I've never used them for this but they absolutely work as advertised for cutting glare on the water. |

| Hey, no joke---polarized really does it. stand in a trout stream and look down at the water, mid-day with regular shades and all you get is darkened glare. Put on the polarized lenses and you can see into the water, watching those pesky brownies laughing at you as you spank the water with your caddisfly. I don't know how they treat the glass but it's not just hype. |

My only chance to catch anything with a fly rod is if I accidently beat one to death while attempting to cast. |

Funny you should mention that Jon, a couple of guys just got busted around here for fishing with dynamite. No faster way to get your limit, is there.
The thought of using fishing equipment on a gig has my creative juices flowing. How about one of those long telescoping Flippin' Sticks to eye-poke mouthy jerks near the band stand? |
