I just received Mel-Bays books by scotty DeWitt of Don Helms and Little Roy Wiggins using their E13th tunings and I was excited to hear those high lonesome sounds.

A while back I bought a Fessenden S-8 with 3 pedal on the SGF and tuned it to E9th with the top two chromatic strings. AB pedal do the usual raises. C pedal I experimented with it raising my E's to F. a bit awkward at times to have both feet operating the pedals.

Now with these two books, I noticed that I could use the E9th tuning I have and use the pedals to get the B's to C#"s and the F# to G#. Would this be an efficient use of pedals?
I also noticed if I tuned to C6th with a high G#, that the 3 pedals could raise 3rd string C to C# & A to B on one pedal, then G to G# on another pedal, and then 7th string C to D. Would this be a worthwhile adventure? Would there be a better tuning copedent to use on this instrument?
Thanks for any help as always. I know once I have my T-8 Fender finished one neck will definitely be E13th. That is until someone changes my mind.

I just realized I put this in non-pedal which I think is more relevant in non-pedal than in pedal for this discussion. I hope that is okay with the forum.
