Tom, maybe the baffle and speaker were changed at a later date? Just a thought. I have 2 Peavey Deuces, one is a combo with (2) 12's and the other is one that myself and Ray Walker split and it has a 15" BW with the Neo magnet. Both sound terrific.

Tom, there are PDF files on the internet regarding the Peavey Deuce and the Mace(big brother to the Deuce). Do a search and it may help you identify yours or post a pic. If you can't find the PDF's let me know and I will dig mine out of the old hard drive.

The first series of Deuce amps were solid state, then they switched to the tube power amp w 4-6l6 and a solid state pre amp. I've never seen one with a 15" from the factory

THANKS TO DON AND DYKE FOR YOUR INPUT...I WILL CHECK FOR THE PDF'S...NO TUBES, JUST SOLID STATE...AS FOR THE 15 " SPEAKER, IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE ANY WORK DONE INSIDE THE CABINET...I'LL UNWRAP IT LATER AND POST PICs...THANKS AGAIN, tom

Does it say VT anywhere?

If it has no 6l6 tubes or sockets for them, it is likely THE ORIGINAL Deuce...late 60s...early 70s which were all solid state...according to internet sources the follow on Deucev2 and Deuce VT were 4x6l6 hybrids with the split around 1978...the VT used op amps rather than discrete components eg transistors in the preamp.

i did read that the only original Deuce someone saw was also a 1X15...maybe the same amp you now have.
