Any of you "oldtimers" remember Red Lane? He stayed with us a short while in Mishawaka Ind. in the early 70's. He left for Nashville, not sure in writing or playing, heard he stayed in an old airplane turned to house just outside of Nashville for some years. Wondering what ever happened to him? Very Happy Very Happy

http://www.nashvillesongwritersfoundation.com/l-o/red-lane.aspx I was familiar with him from his time with Haggard. A pretty impressive list of hit songwriting.

Awesome Bill!! That's the dude. I only knew of him by name, that not being his birth name. I was just a wee toddler at the time but often wondered of his whereabouts. Cool article. Very Happy Very Happy My dad often spoke of him and his awesome songwriting. Thanks for the intriguing info on that!! Very Happy Very Happy

Mr. Barry,
I can't thank you enough for the info you have provided. I means more than you'll ever know. I just wish I would have looked a little sooner in finding him before my father passed away. As they say, they were bud's from WAY back! Very Happy Very Happy We'll still try to get a hold of him somehow.
Thank you so much!!
Jeffery

Red's been one of the closest friends I've ever had for over 30 years. He is doing great and still lives in a stretch DC-8 on a mountain top outside of Nashville. He's still writing like he always has, in fact we wrote together several weeks ago. Legendary writer and a great man.

While Red lane lived in Mishawaka,I worked some Nashville road shows when he was playing lead guitar, as we were the back-up band for everyone on the show Henry Ade and Tennessee Jim show prod. Booked the shows. Henry Ade was also a steel player out of Fort Wayne Ind.

Each and every one of you fella's have played an intricate part in my quest to find "Red". I'm hoping to find him and maybe arrange a meeting of he and my mother, if nothing more than to remember the times of when they were young. Thanks to each and every one of you. GOD BLESS! Cool
