anyone run into this problem? I have a stroboflip that I don't have the original charger for. It doesn't want to run on the 'onespot' that i use to power my pedal board. If I upgrade to something like a Voodoo Lab pedal power would that solve my problem? or do i just need to get a separate power supply? _________________ Sho-Bud Pro-II | Mullen Discovery | Fender Dual Pro | http://www.norajanestruthers.com/ | https://joeoverton.bandcamp.com/ |

As I remember (could be wrong) the Stroboflip is opposite polarity from standard Boss type pedals. You may have already fried it by plugging in the wrong chord. |

I'm looking at my stroboflip power supply. It's output is +5 volts. Center of the plug is positive. I'm not sure, but 9v could have damaged the tuner. Some of the really good electrical guys will chime in on that, I'm sure. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Boss pedals are center negative I believe. I guess you'd have to find the proper plug (center pos. +5volts) to see if the tuner is damaged or not. Maybe it didn't blow but just didn't work with the center neg. plug. |

Put batteries in it to see if it still works.

I plugged in the power supply from my foot-pedal by mistake - fried it.
Got schematic from peterson and repaired it locally - runs well now.
Only use it on batteries now to be safe! _________________ 01'Zumsteel D10 9+9; Sho Bud D10 SuperPro; 6 String Lap Steel (Homemade); Peavey Nashville 1000; Fender Deluxe 85;

It's a very easy mod to install a full-wave diode bridge at the power input to any effect unit. With the full-wave mod, the effect unit will work on either polarity and even operate properly on AC, eliminating any possibility of damage, but keep in mind the unit will always want to see the proper voltage.
Merry Christmas to All

Speak to Sue at Peterson, she will advise you on whether you have fried it (fried mine with wrong power supply) .The customer service from Peterson, and Sue in particular is excellent. _________________ MSA Millenium SD10, GK MB200, Sica 12inch cab, Joyo American Sound Pedal/ Jay Ganz Straight Ahead amp, Telonics 15inch in Peavey cab, Digitech RP150, Peterson tuner.Hilton volume pedal.Scott Dixon seat and guitar flight case. |

First choice would be from Peterson. Places like Parts-Express should have something too. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . If you look at the bottom of the Strobo Flip you will see the required specs:
5 volts DC (regulated) at 200 mA
Center tap is positive |

Use batteries!! They last a fair amount of time and they let you know gradually when they are getting weak. One less thing to have to plug in, and one less cord to clutter up things. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

What Paul said, batteries safer and last a long time, I also have colour coded my wal warts, I have plug of Peterson marked with yellow electrical tape and a piece of yellow tape at power inlet on Stroboflip , Same on RP 150 marked with red tape etc etc., so yellow goes to yellow ,red to red blue to blue etc. _________________ MSA Millenium SD10, GK MB200, Sica 12inch cab, Joyo American Sound Pedal/ Jay Ganz Straight Ahead amp, Telonics 15inch in Peavey cab, Digitech RP150, Peterson tuner.Hilton volume pedal.Scott Dixon seat and guitar flight case. |

I have mine mounted on the steel leg with the leg mount adapter that came with my stroboflip. I have a cord running from the tuner out jack on my black box to it. I use batteries, which last a really long time. Since it is right at my fingertips, it is easy to just flip it on or off when I want to tune, and with the Black Box tuner out, the tuning is silent.
I don't know if your situation creates a problem with turning it on and off or not, but if not, then batteries are the way to go, in my opinion. You can even go rechargeable batteries if batter life is an issue. I use the one's from Harbor Freight in my Zoom H2 recorder and they have worked well for me and are pretty cheap. You are supposed to be able to recharge them 1000 times. I don't want to use them in my stroboflip because rechargeable batteries just die a sudden heart attack without any warning. The Alkaline one's in my stroboflip give me a warning by the contrast getting low and dim. It still works, but it let's me know it is time for new batteries. |

I've always used batteries in it. The power supply still has the little wire tie on it. I only carry it in case the batteries do a sudden death trip on me. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Not sure what I have - But the power supply adaptor that the USB cord plugs into that I got with my strobo plus can be plugged in in either direction The prongs are both the same size - I haven't tried it... Sounds like I shouldn't???? _________________ Ron Petersen |

Your Strobo Plus is a different system, it charges via USB port from computer , or using same lead plus adapter from mains , your batteries are built in rechargeable! as opposed to Stroboflip which uses standard batteries or dedicated wall wart. _________________ MSA Millenium SD10, GK MB200, Sica 12inch cab, Joyo American Sound Pedal/ Jay Ganz Straight Ahead amp, Telonics 15inch in Peavey cab, Digitech RP150, Peterson tuner.Hilton volume pedal.Scott Dixon seat and guitar flight case. |

I have fried my Stroboflip twice with a Hilton power supply. My Hilton power supply now has a "warning label" on it. I use batteries in my Strobofiip but I go thru batteries pretty quickly. Joseph, you should be certain to only use the 5 volt power supply. I have an extra one if you find that you need one.
