Did a gig with her (Rose Lee Maphis) last years playing drums. You can see it on our Pigeons facebook. @... Uncle Leo J Eiffert Jr & the Pigeons. What a super friend she is and a great singer entertainer too! |

Back in the sixties shortly after I got out of the Army I did a stint for six months or so at the Crow's Nest club in Oxnard, California. We'd have guest artists every Tuesday and had Joe and Rose Lee at least once a month. When they'd appear I'd always go over to bass from lead guitar as our regular bass player wasn't sure how to follow Joe's instrumental tunes and I had a lot of his records then and even tried to play some of them from time to time... I thought they were a very nice couple and enjoyed pickin' behind them....JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Those was the days Jerry. This new world is full of BS and this History of it is so far out of tune.Your old friend Leo. |

Leo, right on about the BS factor. Did several gigs with Joe and Rose Lee back in the day and they were the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. They also did their thing better than anyone else.
The pigeons have spoken…

Cool Barry,But,them Pigeons are common and not Royalty High Class neighborhood birds. But,I love then all anyway. Please feed them because your City hates you to do that and them pigeons need it to stay alive with all other birds in this world. |

I did a few gigs with them in the late '70s, early '80s.
Joe was great, of course...but Rose was just an awesome rhythm player. She totally laid it in there, and really kept it all together. |

Robert. Thanks for posting this. Missed it on the local news. Been there many times but mostly for evening and weekend shows. I need to take a few hours off from work this week and go to the CMHOF. |
