Hey folks-
I am looking for an instructor in the San Francisco area to help me get started on the pedal steel. I am a rank novice, although I have played six-string for 16 years or so (for what that's worth). I have a steel and plenty of time on my hands these days. Hope to hear from you- Thanks-
Chip

Here is a link to a listing of teachers:

Actually you may find your 16 years experience valuable.

I think you'll find this video useful. It was made for 6 string guitarists.

Chip,
Duane "Pudgy" Wong has a Music store across the Bay in El Cerrito called Music Works. I know he used to give lessons and there is a good chance he still does. He helped me a lot when I was starting out. They're in the phone book.

Good luck, Dave

Bobby Black may give lessons. He's probably the best known and experienced pedal steel guitar player (he also plays Reso) in the Bay Area.

I asked Bobby a few years ago if he gave lessons and he said "no". Maybe he's changed his mind. That would be good.
